Bryan English
Bryan English brings his craft from the heart of South Africa to the sunny shores of The Bahamas at The Cove Eleuthera. With an impressive career spanning over a decade in leadership roles at prestigious establishments such as North Island, Seychelles; Mia Resort in Nha Trang, Vietnam; and Sasakwa Lodge and Faru Faru Lodge – two of Singita’s luxury safari lodges in Tanzania; as well as Fancourt Golf Estate in George, South Africa, Chef Bryan has cultivated a distinct culinary flair deeply rooted in his South African heritage.
Most recently the Executive Chef at One&Only Rwanda, Chef Bryan is now at the culinary helm of this idyllic Bahamian retreat, overseeing the resort’s dining outlets including Freedom Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Gregory Town Grill and the Point Bar. He’ll continue the Asian-inspired flavors that Freedom is known for, as well as showcasing Bahamian cuisine, offering guests a taste of authentic local fare. In addition to delivering exceptional experiences, his goal is to create a culinary destination where creativity, quality and a touch of global influence converge. He is an avid surfer and mountain biker, having recently completed the four-day, 255-kilometer (160 miles) Kilimanjaro 2 Natron (K2N) mountain bike race held in the scenic backcountry of Tanzania and a fundraiser for Grumeti Fund, which aims to conserve the Serengeti ecosystem.
