Artist in Residence
Experience the work of Bahamian artist, Lavarrick King, at The Cove Eleuthera starting on January 19.
Lavarrick King is a fine artist with over a decade of professional experience working primarily in acrylic and watercolor. His practice is multidisciplinary, spanning painting, digital media, sculptural and bas-relief processes, film, music, and Junkanoo-based creative work. Across mediums, King’s work is grounded in observation, surface, and the influence of place.
His work has been previewed and sold locally and internationally through both solo and group exhibitions. While his broader practice includes material-driven and large-scale work, his fine art approach emphasizes restraint, balance, and tonal sensitivity rather than literal depiction.
As Artist-in-Residence at The Cove Eleuthera, King is developing a site-responsive body of fine artwork created entirely during the residency. The works draw from Eleuthera’s natural light, horizon lines, and limestone landscape, reflecting the quiet pace and atmosphere of Gregory Town. Guests are able to encounter the work as it evolves, offering a direct connection to the creative process embedded within the property.
The completed residency works will serve as a lasting visual record of time and place at The Cove, with select pieces remaining on view and others available for acquisition.
