With over two decades of experience in Japanese cuisine, Sushi Chef Joel Abelilla brings extensive expertise and passion to The Cove Eleuthera. Specializing in teppanyaki and sushi, Joel’s culinary journey has taken him across the globe, working in esteemed restaurants such as the Izakaya Iwau Japanese Restaurant in the Philippines, the Samurai Japanese Restaurant in St. Kitts and Nevis and the Ritz-Carlton in Bahrain, amongst others. His time abroad has allowed him to collaborate with diverse teams, gaining invaluable insights into different cultures and cuisine.  

Joel believes professionalism is the cornerstone of a successful culinary career. Diners at Freedom Restaurant can look forward to a memorable dining experience with Joel’s expertly crafted sushi rolls.
