Cocktails With a View at Point Bar

There’s a quintessentially Eleuthera moment that happens every evening. The sun begins to set over the ocean—setting the sky ablaze in oranges, pinks and purples—and our guests look on, frosted glasses in hand, from the prime viewpoint that is Point Bar.

That experience will be even better this year thanks to our refurbished bar and updated cocktail menu. “Our Point Bar menu is crafted in a way that resembles and speaks about our island,” says Rupesh Govindaraj, restaurant operation manager. That means most of the ingredients, from the alcohol to the fruits, are sourced locally, seasonally and sustainably. 

The menu features a tight lineup of craft cocktails, mocktails, wine and Sands Bahamian beer.

Among the staff and guests’ favorite tipples is the sweet-and-spicy Picante del Cove, which combines an agave-based tequila with agave syrup, watermelon and red chili flakes. New to the menu is the Tory Smash. Created by one of our bartenders, Taureen, it blends two island-produced rums with pineapple (which Eleuthera is famous for) and orange juice for a tropical sip that tastes like vacation. For a coconut-flavored sipper sans alcohol, opt for the White Sands (coconut water, nonalcoholic gin and coconut flakes).

Those drinks go down easy on any night, but there are a few evenings when they come with an extra dose of fun: Join us for happy hour on Tuesdays and Fridays when live performances by the band Pineapple Express create an atmosphere that’s as vibrant as the cocktails themselves. On Thursday evenings, Point Bar is open for our Taste of the Bahamas dinner. The unforgettable celebration of local culture, flavor and sound is accompanied by the colorful rhythms of a Junkanoo group from Hatchet Bay.
