Get Settled
You’re on island time now (and at the only Relais & Chateaux property in the Bahamas). Slow down. Grab a bathing suit and a seat by the infinity pool or on one of our two private beaches. Enjoy a cocktail or a dip in the water. Stretch your legs during a peaceful stroll along our new Nature Trail, where you’ll discover the beauty of lush, native Bahamian vegetation, including orchids and kamalame trees, and spot native fowl like Bananaquits and Royal Terns.
Join a Sunset Cruise
Step straight into vacation mode as you take in the beauty of Eleuthera during an hour-long cruise along the tranquil waters surrounding The Cove. A charcuterie board, water, sodas, wine and local beers are included.
Enjoy Dinner at Freedom Restaurant
Sit down to an engaging meal at Freedom Restaurant’s sushi bar. Our chefs will craft fresh rolls—including our favorite Bahamas Roll, made with conch, or Torched Lobster Roll—right in front of you.
Stargaze from Your Patio
Extend your first day of vacation by retreating to your private patio for a tranquil stargazing experience. Use the provided telescope and accompanying stargazing book to explore the constellations, while you bask in the serenity of a wide-open sky.
Stretch Out During Morning Yoga
After a satisfying breakfast in bed (we recommend the tropical overnight oats or banana bread French toast), unlock your inner calm during a yoga flow class on the pool deck or in our new studio.
Visit the Spa
Continue those Zen feelings with a relaxing treatment at our on-site spa, like a De-stress Massage, Coffee Body Scrub or Rejuvenating Facial. Add on a customizable aromatherapy oil to elevate the experience.
Relax During a Lunchtime Picnic
Choose from three sites around our resort—the North Beach, Point Bar or aboard a floating sea lounge—to enjoy a curated picnic lunch prepared by our culinary team.
Spend the Afternoon Aboard a Floating Sea Lounge
Enjoy the best seat in the house when you reserve a leisurely half-day aboard our private, floating, open-air lounge. With seating for up to four, this romantic escape feels like you are adrift on your own private island—and can be personalized with the food and beverages of your choosing.
Join a Sushi-Making Class
Don’t just eat the sushi tonight. Instead, get hands-on with your dinner by learning the art of sushi making with our sushi chef. Not only will you get to enjoy your creations, but you’ll take home a sushi kit with recipes.
Day Trip to Harbour Island
After a leisurely breakfast at Freedom Restaurant, pack up for a day exploring Harbour Island, which is just a 35-minute boat ride from The Cove. Known for its pristine pink sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and vibrant local culture, the small island offers a serene escape with plenty of outdoor adventures. Transfers are provided by The Cove for $90 each way.
While You’re There…
Scuba Dive or Snorkel
Located on the western side of Harbour Island, Valentines Dive Center offers an array of guided activities, such as scuba diving, snorkeling or swimming with the pigs, for beginners and experienced visitors alike.
Explore the Pink Sand Beach
Walk along the island’s renowned pink sand beach (a six-minute drive from Valentines Dive Center). The natural marvel can be credited to tiny marine organisms known as foraminifera whose pink and red shells contribute to the vibrant color. There are two public access points to the beach; it can also be reached via the Pink Sands and Ocean View resorts.
Peruse Princess Street Gallery
Princess Street Gallery sits four minutes from the Pink Sand Beach. Find creative, tropics-inspired pieces by a wide variety of local artists.
Stroll Dunmore Town
Dunmore Town—the charming heart of Harbour Island—offers a blend of local culture, boutique shopping and dining. After exploring the colorful shops and art galleries, head to one of our favorite eateries: Thai’d at Runaway Hill Inn for a fusion of Thai and Bahamian cuisine; the Dunmore Clubhouse for a refined, island-inspired meal; Rock House for fabulous seafood paired with endless ocean views; or Ma Ruby’s or Angela’s Starfish for authentic Bahamian dishes like conch fritters and fresh-caught fish.
Linger Over Breakfast at Freedom Restaurant
Head to our oceanside restaurant for Whale Point salmon Benedict or coconut pancakes to fuel yourself for the day.
Join an Explore Eleuthera Tour
Uncover the hidden gems of Eleuthera during this customizable, small-group experience. Stops may include the Sapphire Blue Hole, Queen’s Bath, Preacher’s Cave, Spanish Wells and the Glass Window Bridge, which showcases the contrast between the navy blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean with the brilliant turquoise of the Bight of Eleuthera. 2–4 hours, $120 per hour
Stay for Lunch in Spanish Wells
Following your tour, hang out on Eleuthera’s northern tip. Spanish Wells is the fishing capital of the Bahamas, so the seasonal lobster harvest is a must. For a waterfront lunch, we recommend Wreckers or the Shipyard. Both offer Bahamian specialties and delicious seafood caught by local fishermen, including conch dishes. (Note: The Cove can also provide a transfer directly to Spanish Wells without the tour. It requires a 45-minute drive and 10-minute ferry for $6 each way.)
Spend the Afternoon at Your Leisure
Try your hand at watercolors with our Sip & Paint experience. Relax on one of our pristine beaches with a fresh coconut in hand. Enjoy a game of pickleball on our new courts. The afternoon is yours.
Cheers to Cocktail Hour
Our daily rum tasting, located at Freedom Restaurant, includes samples of four varieties from the Bahamas’ own John Watling’s Distillery. Point Bar, ideally nestled on the edge of the bluff between our two beaches, also hosts live music to coincide with sunset.
Venture out for Dinner at Daddy Joe’s
Local favorite Daddy Joe’s is a short, five-minute ride from the resort. Enjoy a pineapple mojito at the outdoor bar, fill up on conch fritters and spicy shrimp and sing along during lively karaoke nights. The Cove provides complimentary transfers to and from the restaurant.
Sneak in a Snorkel
Before you depart, enjoy one last dip in the turquoise waters with a snorkel directly from our private beach. You’re sure to see plenty of brightly hued marine life, but you’ll also swim through our coral reef nursery, which was built in partnership with Reef Rescue Network (RRN) and features coral trees and domes that are designed to help protect and grow coral.
