Swim Beyond the Shore: A Wild Swimming Residency in Eleuthera
There’s something different about swimming in Eleuthera.
The water here is impossibly clear. One moment it’s calm and gently shifting, and the next it’s stretching out in shades of turquoise that feel almost unreal. At The Cove Eleuthera, swimming becomes less about distance or pace and more about presence. You notice your breath. The rhythm of your stroke. The quiet that settles in once you’re fully immersed.
Time in and around water has long been associated with a sense of calm and mental clarity, often referred to as the “blue mind” effect. The ocean invites a slower pace, naturally guiding you toward mindfulness. Swimming builds on that, combining breath, movement and immersion in a way that can reduce stress and restore a feeling of balance.
In Eleuthera, that balance feels especially tangible. With warm, buoyant waters and miles of uninterrupted coastline, the experience of swimming becomes intuitive and less about effort, more about flow. It’s a place where you can drift, explore or push yourself further, depending on what you need that day.
This year, The Cove is quietly building on that connection with two Wild Swimming Residencies in collaboration with Olympic Coach, Paul Asmuth. Hosted on select dates in June and November, the experience offers small-group, guided swims designed to help participants feel more confident and at ease in open water, while refining techniques along the way.
The focus remains simple: time in the water, thoughtful guidance and space to reconnect with the ocean and with yourself.
Because here, swimming isn’t just an activity. It becomes something deeper and entirely your own.
