Fall In Love With Autumn at The Cove

Warm days, cool nights and tranquil waters make the season among the best times of year to experience the Bahamas.

For Bahamian locals, autumn brings with it a special feeling: There are fewer visitors, so the islands are infused with a sense of calm and solitude. Cool mornings and evenings are ideal for active outings. And some of the country’s best seafood makes an appearance during the season, including spiny lobster and stone crab.

Make the most of the serenity by diving into experiences you can’t have anywhere else. When you visit The Cove in the quieter months of October and November, you’re more likely to have these rare and beautiful places (almost) to yourself. This three-day itinerary will get you started. Bonus: Fall features our most favorable rates of the year for beachfront villas and suites

Day 1

Morning Yoga

Take advantage of the more forgiving temperatures and get your body ready for the day with a complimentary yoga session on the pool deck.

Make A Splash

The Bahamas are known for their crystal-clear, turquoise waters and incredible visibility. Feel the strength of your body by taking a long swim across our two private coves. Or, enjoy a leisurely spin on a stand-up paddleboard, opt for a snorkel to see area marine life or completely give in to vacation mode aboard a Floating Sea Lounge.

Wander or Relax

Choose your afternoon activity based on your energy level: You can stroll through the lush Bahamian vegetation that lines our mile-long Nature Trail or head to the spa to soothe your muscles and rejuvenate your mind and body.

Happy Hour at Point Bar

Our recently refreshed Point Bar is the place to watch golden hour settle over the waters. If you’re visiting on a Thursday, you’ll get to pair your Pumpkin Martini with the energetic tunes of the Hatchet Bay Junkanoo group. Afterward, join our weekly Taste of the Bahamas Dinner to experience the authentic flavors of the islands.

Day 2

Game Fishing

After breakfast in bed or on your villa’s patio, meet your guide for a half-day fishing excursion. Wahoo and tuna are migrating, so it’s the perfect time to test your casting skills. Bring your fresh catch back to Freedom Restaurant, and our chefs will prepare them for your lunch (or dinner).

Game, Set, Match

After spending most of the day on the water, it will feel good to move your feet with a friendly pickleball match on our courts. If the weather is particularly warm, cool off in the infinity pool or the bay’s waters.

See the Stars

Gain a different perspective on the landscape by stargazing directly from your private patio. Our team can set up a telescope. Use the accompanying stargazing book to explore the constellations and breathe in the quiet of the season.

Day 3

Coffee and Turtles

Enjoy your morning cup of joe while keeping an eye out for sea turtles at our Turtle Point overlook—so named because the animals love swimming in the area.

Explore Eleuthera

Discover more of our beautiful, mile-wide island with a half-day outing to some of its most beloved—and photogenic—gems, including the Sapphire Blue Hole, Queen’s Bath and Glass Window Bridge, with a private guide.

Seasonal Dinner

Spiny lobster makes an appearance in fall. Nothing beats the taste of hand-caught, lightly grilled lobster dipped in melted butter. You’ll have to work to taste the delicacy, though: Our chefs will cook it for you after you dive for them during a boat excursion or by snorkeling off the point.
